Traditional Yoga Schools In India Surpass Modern Yoga Schools

Yoga schools in India are seen with more importance and are expected to perform better than the yoga schools in other countries because the traditional yoga has the deepest known traces in India. When we use the word ‘traditional’ with yoga, it means we refer to its purest form that is found in Indian history and literature. The art is practiced and researched maximum only in this country while the other countries realized its importance centuries after. Today, western world has understood the importance of this art proven effective to live healthy and happy with least problems- physical and psychological. The learning at yoga schools improves the way to visualize and analyze the happening around our self. However, as the popularity is scaling new heights, the traditional form is shifting towards the modern format. Many yoga schools with primary interest in financial gains serve distorted forms of ancient yoga in attractive manner to impress more and more enthusiasts. So, it is yours duty to find out the right yoga schools in India that still maintain the true values of ancient yoga.

Eastern And Western Forms Of Traditional Yoga:

After the commercialization of term ‘yoga’ at big scale especially in eastern and western countries, there exist two theories- western and eastern. Western yoga practitioners are inclined more towards a modern approach with less focus upon spirituality. For this community, yoga is an art of stretching to improve the flexibility and fitness. This aspect acted as a catalyst in its immense popularity. Many western yoga schools focus primarily just upon the physical fitness of candidates; so, the majority of offered courses are more centric to Hatha, Ashtanga, Kundalini and Bikram – although other forms also exist. On the other side, Eastern theory is more focused upon the spiritual element- that is said inseparable part of yoga. The ultimate goal of well balanced ancient yoga teacher training in India is to train the student to attain the self-realization, the extreme of self consciousness. According to this theory, individual at the stage of self consciousness establishes a bond with Divine Power that leads him on the path of spiritual progress. It is not mere the workout for weight loss or obesity; it is about mind and meditation.

Which Form Of Traditional Ancient Yoga To Chose:

Choosing the modern and traditional forms of yoga depends upon how much serious you are. If you aim to share the knowledge for the social welfare even with some commercial interests, you need to be an expert in all the forms; it needs expertise in all the asana and mediation tricks encompassing Shatkarmas, Mudras, Yoga Philosophy, Bandhas, Pranayama, Hatha yoga Anatomy, Bhagvad Gita and Ayurveda etc. The daily schedule of mantra chanting, practicing of Shatkarma, cleansing techniques learning, practicing Asana, Pranayama, Dhyan etc makes the yoga teacher training course in India productive in the way you expect. The History of Yoga and Yoga Tradition - Kaivalya Yoga School

The yoga, which we practice today was actually developed as a part of the tantric civilization which existed in the whole world. Many statues and other proofs have been found in archaeological excavations around the world depicting deities practicing asanas and meditation.

According to myths, in traditional yoga, Shiva is said to be the founder of yoga and Parvati is his first disciple. Lord Shiva is considered to be the symbol of supreme consciousness and Parvati represents supreme knowledge, will and action and is responsible for all creation. The individual soul is bound to the world of name and form, and also liberated from the bondage of the world through her grace. She imparted her secret knowledge of liberation in form of tantra to her children. The relationship between yoga and tantra is like the relationship between consciousness and energy. You cannot separate consciousness from energy, the same way yoga cannot be separated from Tantra.

Tantra is the science of expanding the consciousness and liberating the energy. Tantra is the way to attain freedom from the bondage of the world. Tantra explains the techniques for the expansion of consciousness and the liberation of energy whereby individual limitations are transcended and a higher reality experienced.

Yoga India came into existence when humankind began to realize their spiritual potential and began to evolve techniques to develop it. The yogic science was slowly developed by ancient sages in Himalayas. In ancient times, yoga techniques were kept secret and were never written down or exposed. They were passed down by word of mouth to disciples by gurus. Realized yogis and sages guided sincere aspirants through their personnel experiences.

Sage Patanjali’s verses on yoga, the Yoga Sutras, usually called the eight-fold path is comprised of yama, niyama, asana, pranayama, pratyahara, dharna, dhyana, Samadhi are the first definitive, comprehensive and codified system of yoga.

Kaivalya Yoga School - Yoga Asanas & Poses

In the yog sutras, Patanjali gives a concise definition of asanas, “Sthiram sukham aasanam” which means that any position which is comfortable and steady is asana. The purpose of practicing asanas is to develop the ability to sit comfortably in one position for an extended period of time for meditation.

Later on, it was found that because of weak muscles or less flexibility in the physical body, it’s really difficult to sit for long in meditation. The yogis found that unless and until the physical body is fit enough to sit for extended period, meditation cannot be practiced and hatha yoga ttc India asanas came into existance. They also found that hatha yoga asanas not only make body flexible and strong but also open the energy channels and psychic centers. They found that developing control of the body through these practices enabled them to control the mind and energy. Yogasanas became tools to higher awareness, providing the stable foundation necessary for the exploration of the body, breath, mind and higher states. For this reason, asanas practice comes first in hatha yoga texts such as Hatha Yoga Pradipika.
